The VW vehicle owner is responsible for the performance of the required maintenance listed in the Owner's Manual. VW recommends that the owner retain all receipts covering maintenance on their VW vehicle, but VW will not deny emission warranty coverage solely for the lack of receipts or for failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled maintenance.

The VW vehicle owner should also be aware that VW may deny their warranty coverage is their VW vehicle or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.
